Overview
As a Business Analysis Manager at Capital One, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. We are looking for an associate to join the Enterprise Arbitration team. This team focuses on optimizing inbound channels such as EASE, Email, and Site by designing and implementing models and frameworks. These channels generate over $2.5 billion in annual enterprise value through marketing and servicing optimization. The goal is to ensure the optimal message is delivered to the right customer, driving excellent customer experiences and deepening relationships.
Responsibilities- Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
- Manage and develop 1–2 analysts; coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
- Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product‑level modeling and analytics.
- Lead direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for select products and set strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; build targeted insights to inform new customer experiences and breakthrough technology and concepts.
- Drive step‑change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis.
- Manage and sequence delivery of business intent; build business requirements and execute against the product strategy; oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
- Work closely with colleagues across Capital One—including IT, Sales, Operations, Finance—to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics; exhibit strong quantitative orientation in a data‑driven business environment.
- Show strong executive communication skills—written, oral, and strategic influencing—to drive agreement and deliver results.
- Display an intense focus on short‑ and long‑term goals; drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment; previous consulting experience is a plus.
- At least 3 years of professional analysis experience.
- Currently holding, or in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related)
- Or holding, or in the process of obtaining, a Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration.
- Strong understanding of credit implications associated with product and messaging decisions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for senior audiences.
- Strong executive communication and strategic influencing skills.
- Valid leadership experience; ability to build and leverage a high‑performing team and business partners across the enterprise.
- Base experience in people management is preferred.
- Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering. - Preferred: 5+ years of analysis experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in financial services.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience in consulting.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in people management.
