Senior Business Manager – GenAI Management Strategy

As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to develop frameworks for managing Generative AI and model risk as the company expands its use of LLMs and agentic AI systems. You will lead and collaborate with world‑class professionals to develop, test, and execute risk management practices that ultimately impact the bottom line while fostering continuous learning and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership: develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior.
  • Business ownership: adopt an ownership mindset and potentially hold P&L accountability for a business segment.
  • Strategic planning: create a 1‑6 month horizon plan.
  • Leadership: manage and develop a team of analysts.
  • Coaching and mentoring: guide associates across the organization to develop and retain talent.
  • Coding curiosity: build an understanding of how AI and agentic systems work together in an orchestrated way.
  • Execution: coordinate across business lines to manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute product strategy.
  • Project oversight: manage multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Partnership: collaborate with colleagues across IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other functions to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: demonstrate a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics and a strong quantitative orientation.
  • Business judgment: act as a tenacious decision maker with an aggressive yet responsible approach.
  • People leadership: build and leverage high‑performing teams and partners across the enterprise.
  • Executive communication: exhibit impeccable written and oral communication, strategic influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Results orientation: focus intently on achieving short and long‑term goals in uncertain, fluid environments.
  • Dynamic performance: thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic setting.
  • Consulting experience is a plus.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing qualitative analysis.
  • At least 1 year of people‑management experience.
  • At least 1 year of project‑management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis.
  • 2+ years of people‑management experience.
  • 2+ years of product‑development experience.
  • 2+ years of financial modeling experience.
  • 2+ years of economic forecasting experience.
  • 2+ years of project‑management experience.
Compensation & Benefits

Minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries by location:
Chicago, IL: $182,500 – $208,300
McLean, VA: $200,700 – $229,100
Richmond, VA: $182,500 – $208,300
Riverwoods, IL: $182,500 – $208,300
Additional locations follow applicable ranges. This role may also earn performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
