Senior Business Manager, Product Analytics

As a Business Manager at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. We are looking for a Sr. Manager for the Retail Bank’s Product Analytics team. You will help shape a wide range of innovative consumer-facing and platform experiences across the Retail Bank. You will apply your analytical skills, technical skills, and product sense to support leadership in prioritizing what to build and setting goals for execution. You will guide product teams using data and insights, develop hypotheses, and employ rigorous analytical approaches to test them.

You will define success metrics, OKR frameworks, and surface insights on new opportunities and challenges.

Your work will directly influence product direction, investment decisions, and the product vision for the Retail Bank. This is a highly collaborative role in which you will problem solve alongside partners and leadership in Product, Engineering, Research, Data, Finance, and others. You will be responsible for growing a team of product analysts and contributing to the growing product analytics community.

General Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership:
    Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
  • Leadership:
    Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One.
  • Analytics:
    Develop and implement new product measurement frameworks and strategies for various digital products; lead product level data modeling/analytics.
  • Execution:
    Manage and sequence delivery of product intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Partnership:
    Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including Product, Tech, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
  • Strategic, analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing, credit risk management.
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: A tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business.
  • Solid people leadership experience:
    Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, fostering innovation, driving critical decisions, holding business partners accountable, and consistently delivering results.
  • Strong executive communication skills:
    Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Clear results orientation:
    Focus on achieving both short and long-term goals, able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3 years of experience performing quantitative analysis
  • At least 3 years of experience performing qualitative analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience performing people management
  • At least 1 year of experience performing project management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
