Principal Associate, Contract Manager at Capital One's Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) team.
OverviewWe seek a Principal Associate, Contract Manager to partner with business units, procurement stakeholders, legal, and other stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure all third‑party agreements meet Capital One’s rigorous contracting standards. The role includes drafting and negotiating agreements that capture business intent, mitigate risk, and drive business value.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning
:
Assess transactions, create deal strategies, work with business customers and stakeholders to understand needs, evaluate risks, and design execution plans. - Drafting
:
Draft or redline contracts to protect Capital One from risk using industry best practices and stakeholder expertise. - Negotiation
:
Effectively negotiate with suppliers, produce contracts within Capital One standards, plan and execute negotiation strategy, and adapt to changing circumstances. - Transaction Management
:
Manage transactions proactively, drive to completion, serve as central point of contact, leverage organizational skills and influence to meet business and ESM timelines. - Communication
:
Communicate with associates, leadership, and third parties; regularly liaise with line of business, legal, compliance, and data security groups. - Collaboration
:
Work closely with ESM, business teams, and stakeholders. - Strategic Advice
:
Use knowledge of Capital One’s policies and procedures to advise business customers on risk minimization contractually.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in contract drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution or legal experience.
- Limited travel may be required.
- Juris Doctorate.
- More than 2 years of experience drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing procurement contracts.
- More than 2 years of experience creating and executing contracting and negotiation strategies.
Base salary: $119,400 to $163,500 annually, depending on location.
Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
