Senior Product Manager Lead

Job Summary

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Senior Product Manager Lead to join their hybrid team in McLean, Richmond, or NYC. Key initiative:
Break down monolith into modular components; improve system scalability and maintainability. This position is W-2 only and does not accept third‑party or C2C arrangements.

• Define and own the product roadmap in partnership with technology leads.
• Identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvements.
• Focus on forward‑looking platform capabilities for trading desks.
• Manage product backlogs and sprint cycles.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for requests and escalations across business teams.
• Ensure solutions support auditable risk‑mitigation practices.
• Oversee regulatory reporting improvements and identify next steps and enhancements in risk workflows.
• Break down opportunity areas—upstream data quality, model risk testing, reporting UX, and code modernization—into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Drive day‑to‑day backlog prioritization and sprint ceremonies alongside engineering.
• Identify and close gaps in automation, compliance readiness, and platform standardization as the migration completes.
• Manage communication and expectation‑setting with business partners.

• 8+ years of experience, with a strong background in product management and risk (market/liquidity/capital).
• Roadmap ownership, backlog management, and delivery execution.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft PowerPoint/Word.
• Designing auditable risk‑mitigation solutions.
• Experience in regulatory reporting environments.

• Experience with in financial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industries.

• Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with a bias toward action.
• Solution‑focused: identifies problems and brings options.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable operating independently in fast‑moving, high‑pressure environments.
• Confident communicating with and presenting to senior executives.

McLean, VA;
Richmond, VA; or NYC. Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite.

Pay Range:
Approximate pay range is between $75.00 and $90.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
