Position: Management Development Program Associate - 2027

Overview

Management Development Program Associate – 2027. This full‑time position is part of Capital One’s two‑year Management Development Program (MDP), a career accelerator that offers rotational experience in a single career pathway. Associates will rotate between two distinct roles at the one‑year mark, gaining hands‑on experience in areas such as strategic delivery, risk advisory, operations, or human resources. The program requires in‑person attendance in the continental United States and does not sponsor immigration or work‑authorization support.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and lead effectively with team members and partners across diverse audiences.
  • Autonomously manage and lead multiple complex projects concurrently in a collaborative environment with a high attention to detail.
  • Develop relationships with leaders and teams across Capital One’s lines of business, including audit, banking, card, global external affairs, HR, risk management, and technology.
  • Leverage data analysis and visualization to diagnose complex problems, inform decision‑making, and build strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare regular updates and hold teams accountable on progress by keeping information about project progress up‑to‑date, accurate, appropriately detailed, and visible to all parties.
  • Proactively identify, remove, or elevate obstacles, ensuring quick resolution for the team.
  • Implement necessary communications and change activities associated with product launches, technology changes, and process improvements.
  • Assess team needs and identify the resources required to achieve goals.
  • Use information and interactions to make good judgment on potential risks and issues.
Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a bachelor’s degree (or higher) with an expectation of completing the most recent full‑time degree program by July
    2027 or earlier.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or higher degree in business, economics, information systems, risk management, human resources, accounting, finance, engineering, communications, supply chain, audit, or other related majors.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills to drive strategic problem‑solving and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders through storytelling.
  • Demonstrated complex leadership and a team‑oriented mindset, willing to go the extra mile to deliver team tasks.
  • Agility and adaptability to learn quickly, embrace change, challenge the status quo, and thrive while navigating ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Active curiosity and eagerness to leverage new tools and technology to drive initiatives forward.
  • Exposure to or interest in the principles of project management, process management, and risk management.
