Director of Construction - Residential Design Build

ABOUT THE ROLE

WINN Design + Build is a luxury residential design-build firm with over two decades of delivering exceptional homes in the DC metro area. We're looking for a Director of Construction to lead our production team, build the systems that scale our business, and shape the next chapter of our growth.

• Lead, coach, and hold Project Managers accountable for GP, NPS, and project outcomes
• Establish a regular PM coaching cadence with weekly one‑on‑ones and structured development plans
• Create clear delegation frameworks and decision‑making authorities
• Facilitate weekly production meetings and maintain team alignment

• Design estimating systems and a costing database for consistent, accurate project pricing
• Document "The Winn Way" — company standards covering key processes and trade scopes
• Develop PM empowerment tools: budget protocols, schedule frameworks, decision authorities
• Establish subcontractor performance tracking and feedback systems

• 7+ years residential remodeling experience including ground‑up new construction
• 3+ years leading construction teams and developing direct reports
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects ($1M+ values)
• Track record building systems that improve operational performance
• Experience interacting directly with homeowners and establishing strong relationships with vendors and trades
• Strong integrity, accountability, and genuine interest in developing others

• $150,000–$160,000 base salary
• Up to $30,000 annual performance incentive (GP margin + client satisfaction)
