Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated graphic design intern to support a dynamic communications team across a variety of media channels. Reporting to the senior manager of the Creative and Digital practice, s/he will primarily help shape the HII Mission Technologies visual image with creative solutions and visually compelling design across web and multimedia channels including social media and print/outdoor - to reinforce the HII brand.

As required, s/he will support internal communications for a diverse and global audience of approximately 7,000 employees as well as the division's stakeholder engagement function with graphics for trade shows, conferences and other strategic events.

Job Responsibilities

* Collaborate with Mission Technologies Communications team to create and implement strategic campaigns across various communication channels internally and externally.

* Design and develop a range of products including brochures, advertisements, presentations, templates, graphics, photography/videography, and other media.

* Research and/or develop a digital asset management tool for use by the communications team for more efficiency

* Assist with developing and maintaining digital platforms including website and intranet.

* Support strategic efforts to increase talent acquisition through various media channels.

* Apply design techniques best suited to produce desired visual messaging aligned with HII corporate standards.

* Generate, convert and/or modify complex images to communicate desired message to target audience/s.

* Assist with compiling platform analytics and campaign metrics as needed.

* Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.

* Assist with executive-level PowerPoint presentations.

* Assist stakeholder engagement manager with graphics, planning and logistics at key trade shows and events.

* Assist internal communications senior manager with graphic design.

Minimum Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a bachelor's degree with 60% of the required credits completed.

* Preference for Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Visual Media, or related curriculum.

* Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher while participating in this internship.

* Desires to gain professional experience and is eager to learn.

* Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
