Overview

BIM Coordinator MEP position with Clark Construction ("Clark"). This role ensures the successful adoption of BIM, leveraging the complete construction data lifecycle from preconstruction services through construction and project turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project-level BIM coordination, including clash detection, running technical BIM meetings, and follow‑ups.
  • Represent Clark by participating in BIM presentations to clients and industry groups.
  • Establish BIM goals and objectives and develop project-specific BIM workflows.
  • Manage and implement BIM project setup process (e.g., BIM Execution Plan, file formats, nomenclature, model co‑ordinates, data sharing, meeting/coordination schedule, etc.).
  • Facilitate initial BIM meetings and design or MEP coordination sessions.
  • Interact with all stakeholders for smooth project BIM implementation.
  • Daily coordination with global/offsite team members to ensure work continuity & productivity.
  • Perform general administration work such as writing proposals, making presentations, project billings, etc.
  • QA/QC of drawings and models created by others (including scan to BIM).
  • Modify/rectify models created by others.
  • Travel to jobsites in the DMV area as required.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing BIM implementation, preferably with MEP subcontractors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Broad, general understanding of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical systems design with respect to materials and industry standards.
  • In‑depth knowledge of commonly used BIM software:
    Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Synchro, Sketch Up, BIM Track, Bluebeam, 3DS Max, Tekla, Fusor, etc.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:
    Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional knowledge of BIM processes used in the industry.
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • High sense of quality‑driven deliverables.
  • Ability to manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Passion and experience to work with cross‑cultural/global teams.
  • Experience in scan (point cloud) to BIM modeling.
  • Experience in creating LOD 400 models and shop drawings.
  • Experience in performing quantity take‑offs from models and drawings.
  • Experience in creating 4D simulations, 3D animations, and walkthroughs.
  • Functional knowledge of BIM‑FM and COBie.
  • Ability to work with overseas teams virtually in different time zones.
  • Excellence in QA/QC of models created by others.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

A good portion of the day will be spent at a desk, but the role also requires occasional travel to construction sites. The job requires the ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds on occasion. Work intervals include prolonged periods of focused work, collaboration, data analysis, and developing strategies. Conditions generally involve a quiet‑to‑moderate office environment with the possibility of exposure to outdoor weather, louder noise, and moving equipment when onsite.

Compensation

Base salary range: $45,000 – $140,000, varying based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may include bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.
