Position Summary

The College Counselor guides high school students and families through the college admissions process, including college selection, applications, essays, academic planning, and financial aid resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise students and families on college admissions and application strategies
  • Support students with essays, resumes, and application materials
  • Develop individualized college planning timelines
  • Provide guidance on scholarships, FAFSA, and financial aid
  • Conduct student and parent workshops or informational sessions
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress updates
  • Stay informed on college admissions trends and requirements
  • Maintain database of student information
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s preferred
  • Experience in college counseling, admissions, or education
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of college admissions processes and planning tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Essay coaching experience
  • Experience with diverse or international student populations
  • Membership in organizations such as National Association for College Admission Counseling preferred
Work Environment

Flexible remote, hybrid, or on‑site schedule with occasional evening or weekend availability during peak admissions periods.
