Marks Education ( ), an industry-leading educational planning, tutoring, and test preparation firm, seeks a counselor who is eager to work as part of a team offering college and educational advising to students preparing for high school, college, transfer, and graduate admissions. We provide one-on-one customized and strategic educational advising and admissions counseling to students and families.
Applicants should be prepared to advise and effectively support students and parents through each phase of the college admission process, making it as stress-free and rewarding as possible. Counselors manage a caseload of students in grades 8 through 12, participate on a collaborative team, share knowledge and insights with colleagues, and assist with other responsibilities as needed.
You’ll be the go-to person for answering questions, providing guidance, and helping prospective students navigate the complex college admissions and essay process. You’ll offer comprehensive knowledge of varied academic programs, admission requirements, and everything else that students need to know.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in our offices in McLean, Virginia;
Bethesda, Maryland; and Washington D.C., with the ability to work part-time from home.

Minimum Qualifications- B.A./B.S., or advanced degree.
- 3-5 years of selective college/graduate admission/advising, teaching, school counseling/admission, or related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Self‑awareness, sensitivity, and a commitment to a growth mindset towards professional development.
- A sense of professionalism with an ability to navigate family dynamics.
