BASIS Independent McLean is seeking qualified candidates for a Science and Biology Substitute Teacher for Fall 2026.

Teachers who are inspired in their approach, and who stretch the boundaries of learning, are typically the most successful. This position serves as a substitute teacher for science and biology classes across middle and high school. This position is a full‑time, on‑campus position during regular school hours.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited or approved college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with children is preferred. Together with a high level of personal responsibility and optimism, a successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, will thrive in a fast‑paced, achievement‑oriented learning environment, and will be able to stand for long periods of time inside and outside of the building.
