High School Science Tutor

We are hiring a part‑time High School Science Tutor to deliver 1‑on‑1 in‑home tutoring in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia. Sessions are scheduled after school (weekdays 4‑10 PM) and on weekends. The bulk of the teaching will begin in September or October, running through the end of the school year in May or June 2027. Our academic tutors tend to work with students for the duration of the school year and provide long‑term, intensive weekly tutoring from fall to spring.

• Deliver 90‑minute private, in‑home tutoring sessions for high school science across the DMV.
• Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals.
• Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport.
• Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies.

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring high school science; experience with AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Physics is strongly preferred.
• Current or former high school science teachers or graduate students pursuing a STEM Master’s/Ph.D. are strongly preferred.
• Additional expertise in tutoring high school math subjects is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/science fields preferred.
• Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, with strong time management and process adherence.
• Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork.
