IN PERSON Tutors and Specialists

Position

We are looking for experienced tutors to teach multiple subjects in our learning center in McLean, VA. Candidates must be able to work in person, commute to McLean, and commit to at least one year of service.

• Reading, Writing, Math, and Study Skills for elementary and middle school students
• Algebra 2 and above, Chemistry, Physics, and Study Skills for high school students
• College prep (SAT, ACT, college essays, and applications)

• Confidently tutor up to three students per hour on different subjects
• Teach students how to learn and demonstrate a firm, supportive, and boundary‑setting approach
• Provide excellent written and verbal communication and thorough content knowledge
• Complete weekly behavioral and cognitive assessments as required

• Ability to work in person and commute to McLean, VA
• Commitment to a minimum of one year with Tutoring Club
• Minimum of 10 hours per week, with at least two 3‑hour shifts per week
• Availability during the school year (Monday–Thursday 3:00‑9:00 pm, Friday 3:00‑7:00 pm, Saturday 9:00‑3:00 pm) and summer (Monday–Thursday 9:00‑8:00 pm, Friday 9:00‑5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00‑2:00 pm)
• Bachelor’s degree or – for undergraduates – at least 60 credit hours
• Reliable transportation and a reliable laptop
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, interactive whiteboards, and ability to navigate multiple browser tabs
• Passion for the mission and working collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong multitasking ability and ability to tutor three students simultaneously

• Base salary of $15–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Signing bonus of $150 after 90 days of employment
