The Design Build Managers are integral members of our design‑build project teams across the country. As a Design Build Manager, you will provide critical guidance to partnered design firms on one or more of our projects—leveraging internal resources, creativity, professional relationships, and proven processes to manage complex workflows.
Responsibilities- Successfully deliver a design that is on budget, on schedule, and compliant with program standards.
- Actively lead an integrated design‑build team, including regular interfaces with clients, designers, trade partners and other key stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder decision meetings, design progress meetings, and design conferences.
- Shape design deliverables and workflow during the design process, including critical decisions regarding design packaging to support subcontracting and permitting.
- Organize and lead the design review process to ensure collection and resolution of all comments.
- Manage design issue resolution in real time.
- Lead collaboration internally with technical teams, project managers, cost managers, and purchasing agents.
- Participate in development of RFP and RFQ responses, providing strategic insights to pursuit strategy.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Architecture, Construction, Engineering).
- 6 to 8+ years of relevant work experience managing development and/or design to achieve pro‑forma goals—cost, schedule, and program.
- Experience managing staff and outside stakeholders.
- Strong interest in Design‑Build or CMAR delivery.
- Strong knowledge of design and cost management principles and practices.
- Clear understanding of integrated design and construction schedules.
- Appreciation and understanding of architecture firms’ business model, design principles, and process.

This is an active, hands‑on role requiring frequent on‑site presence. You should be comfortable on uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists, and capable of lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role includes desk time for computer work, document review, and meetings.
Work will be conducted on active construction sites with variable weather, moderate to loud noise levels, and in elevated or confined areas with moving mechanical equipment. Some office work at moderate noise levels will also occur.
Work Schedule and ExpectationsThe position requires commitment to extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines. Employees may be expected to monitor and respond to communications (phone calls, emails, text messages) during business needs beyond regular hours to handle time‑sensitive matters or emergencies.
