VTC Operator

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Electronics, or Telecommunications.

Clearance: Active Secret clearance (required).

Certifications: Required (IAT Level I).

CCNA Preferred

Experience:

• 5 years of experience supporting VTC or audiovisual systems in a DoD or enterprise environment.
• Proficiency with Cisco, Polycom, or Crestron-based systems and VoIP integration.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs for VTC endpoints and network components.
• Strong customer service and communication skills to support executive-level users.
• Experience coordinating multi-site, classified conferencing events preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Video Teleconferencing (VTC) setup, operation, and support for secure and unclassified meetings.
• Operate and maintain VTC equipment, codecs, control systems, and network interfaces in compliance with DoD and DISA standards.
• Coordinate VTC sessions with internal users, remote sites, and external agencies ensuring connectivity and quality assurance.
• Perform system checks, diagnostics, and testing before scheduled conferences to ensure functionality.
• Manage VTC scheduling and reservations using DoD-approved scheduling tools or portals.
• Ensure VTC systems are configured to meet classified (SIPR) and unclassified (NIPR) communication requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and network connectivity issues in real time during sessions.
• Maintain inventory of VTC assets, ensuring accurate records and equipment accountability.
• Coordinate with network administrators and cybersecurity personnel to maintain secure configurations and compliance.
• Apply firmware updates and system patches to maintain interoperability and security posture.
• Provide user assistance and training on VTC systems, control panels, and conferencing tools.
• Maintain and update VTC system documentation, operational procedures, and configuration guides.
• Support VIP and executive-level VTC meetings, ensuring professional setup and flawless operation.
• Adhere to DoD cybersecurity and IA policies, ensuring encryption, authentication, and access control compliance.
