This is an opportunity for an Associate Systems Engineer with an interest in advancing and applying innovative systems engineering techniques. We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed candidates with a motivation to join our technical workforce, expand their technical skills and capabilities, and grow our work supporting the development and deployment of nationally important solutions through Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Systems Architecture and Requirements Engineering, cybersecurity, System-of-Systems, Systems Thinking and practices.
- Developing your keen understanding of systems engineering and an awareness of sponsor needs to determine areas where MITRE can have an impact
- Evaluating and comparing alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques; exploring large trade spaces
- Articulating major uncertainties associated with systems architectures, designs, defining risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties
- Identifying and developing metrics to measure and analyze relevant system properties, such as robustness, resiliency, interoperability, quality, and maintainability
- Supporting requirements management, interface management and architecture change management processes
- Performing System Design and development (such as software development), systems modernization, and architecture
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, physics, or related field and applicable internship(s) or academic projects.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance and/or DHS Suitability
- Proficiency using programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, Java, C++
- Familiarity with AI relevant fields, such as computer vision, deep learning, machine learning and autonomous systems and robotics
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling
- Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance
- Applicable internships are a plus!
- Advanced degree in related field of study
- Experience with multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation (physics-level, engineering-level and/or socio-technical-level)
