G2004 - Systems Engineer; SME - Mclean VA

Are you a visionary engineer capable of navigating the complex intersection of hardware, software, and high‑stakes mission requirements? Janus Soft is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Systems Engineer to drive the end‑to‑end lifecycle of sophisticated technical developments.

In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary technical architect and strategist, championing innovative solutions and managing third‑party vendor relationships to broaden the Sponsor’s technical capabilities. From drafting high‑level requirements and Statements of Work (SOWs) to leading hands‑on technical validation and overseas field tests, you will be the technical linchpin ensuring mission success. We are looking for an elite engineer with a deep background in RF systems and network infrastructure who can communicate as effectively with executive stakeholders as they do with bench technicians.

• Clearance:
  Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Education & Experience:
  
  Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) with 7 to 20 years of hands‑on experience.
• Lifecycle Management:
  Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for complex hardware/software developments, including formal program reviews and troubleshooting.
• Technical Domain Mastery:
  Strong background in RF systems, network infrastructure, communication protocols, and manufacturing quality standards.
• Documentation & Contracting:
  Proven ability to support the contracting process (SSJs, SOWs) and draft technical documentation for diverse audiences.
• Validation & Testing:
  Experience in hands‑on technical testing, including developing test plans, coordinating approvals for system deployment, and documenting field reports.
• Operational Readiness:
  Willingness to travel both domestically and overseas (up to 10%) to support system deployment and testing.

• Satellite Communications:
  Direct experience with SATCOM systems and specialized satellite architectures.
• Advanced Networking:
  Deep familiarity with complex computer networking and enterprise‑level infrastructure.
• Customer‑Specific Tools:
  Demonstrated experience utilizing the Sponsor’s internal technical toolsets and formal documentation systems.

• Strategic Partnerships:
  Broaden technical capabilities by engaging 3rd party vendors and fostering internal partnerships.
• Program Oversight:
  Lead stakeholder engagements, user requirement sessions, and O&M efforts for deployed systems.
• Field Leadership:
  Secure necessary approvals for field tests and serve as the technical lead during the deployment of critical systems.
• Technical Authority:
  Serve as a designated SME on specialized technical topics, ensuring high‑quality products are delivered on‑time and on-budget.
