Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is seeking experienced Forensics Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with expertise in accreditation, Firearms & Ballistics, and several other disciplines to serve as advisors, trainers, and mentors. The SMEs will provide remote and in-country support to strengthen forensic capabilities in the Caribbean to meet international standards and acquire International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) forensic accreditation in The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Guyana, and Saint Lucia.

Required Qualifications , Skills, and Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in forensic science in one of the following areas:
    • Forensic quality management and accreditation systems (ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO/IEC 17020), with expertise in quality management systems for forensic laboratories and comprehensive knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO/IEC 17020, and ANAB accreditation requirements, including implementation of document control, audits, management reviews, validation studies, gap analysis, corrective actions, and preparation for laboratory accreditation.
    • Firearms and ballistics examination
      , including experience with comparative forensics and firearms-related training, with experience in comparative forensic sciences and demonstrated competency examining firearms and ammunition components in accredited laboratory settings, including knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, skill in serial number restorations, distance determinations, tool mark analysis, firearms-related training, and firearm assembly/disassembly and repair.
    • Other forensic disciplines such as drug chemistry, biology/DNA analysis, toxicology, or trace evidence analysis
      , with experience as a forensic scientist, technical leader, or laboratory supervisor and with expertise developing validation protocols and technical procedures for complex forensic testing, including experience training personnel and troubleshooting instruments.
  • Willing and able to travel as required.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
