Senior Analyst, Actuary
The Sr. Analyst, Actuary role requires evaluating complex risks and assessing potential financial consequences in the healthcare space. Utilize mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to evaluate risk, help develop business plans that minimize cost, advise on contract pricing in a value‑based, risk‑bearing environment, and lead projects involving contracting, reserving, pricing, and financial modeling for value‑based care programs.
How You’ll Make an ImpactEssential Functions:
- Analyze statistical data around medical trends.
- Perform complex statistics modeling to determine potential risks.
- Assist with pricing risk contracts with payors and providers.
- Prepare presentations and detailed reports and present to clients.
- Lead development and/or maintain internal statistical models to support business goals, including pricing models, financial projections, and contract modeling.
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling capabilities and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and lead small teams in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical skills—drawing conclusions, developing processes, identifying trends from data logically and systematically.
- Create client reports on actuarial topics such as financial outcomes of contracts, including shared‑risk and contingency‑based contracts.
- Lead development of advanced analytical models demonstrating program value (cost savings, quality outcomes, member satisfaction).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Suite: SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of decision support, financial analysis or actuarial experience.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, product, and technology teams.
- Strong SQL database experience.
Education and Experience
- 4‑7 years of experience.
- Associate in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and desire to work in a fast‑paced start‑up environment.
