Position OverviewToday Freddie Mac manages a single‑family mortgage portfolio of about $3 trillion. The Credit Risk Transfer group is responsible for driving our credit risk transfer (CRT) transactions to transfer a significant portion of that credit risk to the private capital market. OurImpact
The CRT team achieves its goal through a suite of innovative offerings, including STACR and ACIS. These transactions help to protect Freddie Mac and taxpayers in the event of a severe economic downturn, and they make our business more efficient by economically reducing the capital we must hold. The CRT portfolio today is more than $50 billion, transferring the credit risk on about $1.6 trillion of single‑family mortgage portfolio.
The team provides robust analytics to support the execution of the CRT transactions, including STACR and ACIS new issuance as well as CRT portfolio transactions (e.g., tender offers, call options). The team is considered as "super user" of all models/methods/applications that impact CRT valuation, and leads or participates in developing new initiatives and structures for the CRT group.
Your ImpactYour will be the CRT liaison with model/methodology owners and financial engineering teams for model/application updates and enhancements that impact CRT valuation and analytics. You will use other platforms/applications owned by other divisions or departments to enhance CRT analytical capabilities. You will be involved in providing analytics to support CRT strategy and improve deal execution, and contribute to the $50+ billion CRT portfolio surveillance and recommend transaction opportunities for improving CRT efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop, support and maintain CRT analytical tools and procedures.
- Develop new CRT analytics (data driven, market driven).
- Support CRT deal execution and participate in capital market research.
- Ad hoc projects based on management request and/or market condition.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 2+ years of experience.
- Strong quantitative / analytical skills. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- 2+ years fixed income / mortgage / capital market experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate to management and business partners.
- Preferred:
Proficiency in at least one of the following: SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or other similar tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced environment, take initiatives.
- Creative thinking.
- Attention to detail.

This position has an annualized market‑based salary range of $94,000 - $142,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
