Overview
Director, Finance (FP&A) – HR and Corporate Overhead. Seek a strategically minded leader, analytic problem solver, and curiosity-driven team member to provide financial leadership to Capital One’s Human Resources and Corporate Overhead functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of associates and deeply collaborate with the business to set an executable budget.
- Analyze current financial results to identify and address business issues and opportunities; communicate insights and recommended next steps to shape financial decisions and strategic direction.
- Support key strategic decisions that impact across the enterprise, including workforce geo strategy and recruiting capacity planning.
- Interact regularly with Executive Committee (EC) and EC+1 leaders; communicate effectively at the highest levels of the organization.
- Manage a cross‑functional team with diverse backgrounds to accomplish a common goal.
- Drive collaboration across Finance organization, bringing an enterprise‑level perspective to support technology, talent and process improvement efforts.
- Provide reporting, analysis and forecasting to facilitate strategic decision‑making and track performance against operating goals and imperatives.
- Assess business opportunities and risks with an orientation to long‑term value creation and appropriate financial performance.
- Create and manage robust financial models and analyses for strategic initiatives.
- Balance analytics and judgment, think beyond departmental objectives, and influence corporate decision‑making.
- Partner strategically with senior business leaders; develop and deliver insightful senior management presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage highly matrixed cross‑functional teams.
- Proven leadership driving results on large‑scale deliverables; cultural beacon attracting and developing top talent.
- Challenge the status‑quo and create well‑managed sustainable processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a quantitative discipline (or relevant military experience).
- At least 7 years of experience in Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, Strategy Consulting, or a blend.
- Minimum 4 years of managing an FP&A function.
- Minimum 3 years of people‑management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (MBA or Finance) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- 8+ years in FP&A; 5+ years managing an FP&A function; 4+ years managing people.
- McLean, VA: $206,000 – $235,100
- Richmond, VA: $187,300 – $213,700
- Other locations follow their corresponding pay ranges.
