Principal Associate, FP&A – Small Business Card (Hybrid)
We are seeking an intellectually curious and highly motivated financial analyst to join our team, where you will be instrumental in the financial planning and analysis for the exciting Small Business Card organization that offers our customers credit cards like Venture X Business and Spark Cash Plus. This role will specifically support and own the Small Business Card Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, including the forecasting and tracking of revenue and volumes.
The position offers opportunities to model P&L scenario planning and conduct ad hoc analysis in support of strategic initiatives. This role requires data analysis, forecasting, and strategic partnership with the business. Strong storytelling skills and a deep understanding of card economics that drive revenue, credit, and costs will be key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will use strong communication, problem solving, and strategic thinking to effectively:
- Formulate and articulate analytics and insights in a way that tells a compelling financial story
- Proactively identify and address potential financial risks and opportunities
- Foster trusted business relationships, including with senior leaders
- Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and reporting
- Independently manage and prioritize workload
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Develop presentations for senior audiences to communicate insights and influence business and financial outcomes
- Address and deliver on ad‑hoc requests and special projects, often in ambiguous environments
- Demonstrate a passion to learn and continuously develop FP&A and technical skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 3 years experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combination
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- At least 4 years experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combination
- Experience in Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)

CompensationMinimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries (location-based):
- McLean, VA: $120,800 – $137,900 for Principal Financial Analyst
- Richmond, VA: $109,900 – $125,400 for Principal Financial Analyst
Salary depends on location and role; additional performance‑based incentive compensation may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
