We are seeking a Property Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting functions for an assigned real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, exceptional attention to detail, and well-developed analytical and organizational skills.

Job Knowledge & Skills- Manage all property accounting functions for an assigned real estate portfolio.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations.
- Review and analyze monthly operating results, investigate variances, and provide explanations for unusual activity.
- Monitor delinquency reporting and support property managers with financial analysis and budget variance reviews.
- Process resident accounting transactions, including rent adjustments, write‑offs, security deposits, refunds, bad debt reserves, housing assistance (Section
8) adjustments, and employee rent deduction entries. - Track, accrue, reconcile, and process payments for utilities, insurance, real estate taxes, ground rent, licenses, permits, and other operating expenses.
- Manage business license renewals, personal property tax filings, tax refund schedules, receivable tracking, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and related financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with property management and corporate teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational support.
- Prior experience in real estate accounting or property management accounting preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
- Yardi experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Starting range $50,572 - $68,476
