Position Summary

Hive Group, a HUBZone certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and multiple award winning federal consulting firm, delivers innovative solutions that support some of the federal government's most complex and mission critical programs. We are seeking an experienced, forward thinking, and highly motivated Project Performance Management (PPM) Sector Lead to join our growing team in support of the General Services Administration (GSA) Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS).

Operating from our corporate headquarters in McLean, Virginia, and collaborating closely with government and contractor leadership, the PPM Sector Lead serves as the financial and operational leader for an assigned portfolio of multi million dollar acquisition programs. This role provides leadership to a team of Project Performance Managers while partnering directly with GSA Client Leadership to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and strategic decision making.

More than a financial manager, the Sector Lead serves as a trusted advisor who transforms financial data into actionable business intelligence, develops innovative solutions to complex acquisition challenges, and helps maximize customer purchasing power through proactive financial planning and portfolio management. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast paced consulting environment, enjoys mentoring high performing teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional value to federal clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all financial management activities across a multi million dollar portfolio, including budgets, commitments, obligations, expenditures, forecasting, cost recovery, profitability, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Project Performance Managers by managing workload, performance, hiring, professional development, and quality standards across the sector.
  • Partner directly with Program Managers, Division Directors, Sector Directors, Business Unit Leadership, Contracting Officers, Contract Specialists, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful financial execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Lead recurring financial reviews with internal and customer leadership by presenting portfolio health, funding status, financial trends, performance metrics, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor project funding by analyzing burn rates, commitments, obligations, available balances, and projected runout dates while identifying funding shortfalls, surplus funding, and opportunities to maximize customer purchasing power.
  • Develop financial forecasts, predictive models, variance analyses, and portfolio analytics that support business volume planning, resource allocation, and executive decision making.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve financial dashboards, reporting tools, and performance metrics that provide real time visibility into portfolio health and support data driven decision making.
  • Establish and maintain financial account structures, reconcile project financial data, review invoices and cost estimates, validate financial accuracy, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and organizational standards.
  • Identify financial and operational risks, implement corrective actions, and standardize financial management processes, reporting practices, and quality assurance activities across the sector.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, cross functional collaboration, and the development of innovative financial management solutions that improve execution efficiency and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in federal contracting, financial management, project management, or program management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, developing employees, and managing complex project portfolios.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience supporting GSA, Assisted Acquisition Services, or other federal acquisition organizations is highly preferred.
  • Experience developing executive level dashboards, financial reporting, and portfolio analytics is preferred.
  • Must be able to be on-site at Hive Group Headquarters in McLean VA at a minimum of one day per week.
