With over 19 years of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy experience and a decade of collaborating with professional athletes, the founders aim to educate the community, set injury prevention standards, and make patients healthier. Located in McLean and Falls Church, VA, AKPT excels in providing expert care for elite athletes, weekend warriors, post-surgical patients, and chronic injury recovery.

Role Description

This is an on-site Licensed Massage Therapist contract role, located in McLean, VA and Falls Church, Va. The therapist will perform 30 minute, 60 minute and 90 minute therapeutic massages tailored to meet client needs, help alleviate pain, increase flexibility, and support recovery for patients ranging from athletes to post-operative and chronic pain clients. Responsibilities include maintaining client records, collaborating with other professionals in rehabilitation, creating personalized treatment plans, and adhering to professional standards of hygiene and customer care.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in diverse massage therapy techniques, including deep tissue, trigger point release, myofascial release, cupping, IASTM and sports massage.
  • Excellent understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to tailor objectives for client treatments.
  • Ability to maintain detailed client records and track progress effectively in SOAP notes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
  • Certification in massage therapy with valid state licensure in Virginia.
  • CPR and First Aid-certified, with understanding of maintaining sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Experience in working with athletes or rehabilitation patients is a plus.
