Job Description Job Details### Description The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, staff, and patients in a fast-paced podiatry practice. This is a part-time, PRN (as-needed) position that offers flexibility while providing valuable hands-on experience in patient care and minor in-office procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a dynamic clinical environment.

Schedule
* Part-Time PRN (as needed)
* Flexible schedule based on clinic needs
* Opportunity to pick up additional shifts when available

Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)
* Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
* Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
* Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
* Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
* Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
* Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
* Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
* Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

Medical Assistant Required Skills And Experience
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
* CMA or RMA certification preferred
* Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
* Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
* Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused
* Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
* Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
