This role supervises, trains, and inspects the performance of assigned Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Lobby Attendants, ensuring that all procedures meet the hotel’s high standards. The supervisor must effectively manage staff to achieve financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive team relations.
Responsibilities- Guest Service: Accountable for guest satisfaction by leading the housekeeping team; assigning, inspecting, and recording housekeeping actions throughout the hotel. Timely respond to guest concerns or requests in a courteous and friendly manner, focusing on service recovery when applicable. Work side by side with staff to train and model appropriate guest service standards. Achieve goals by developing and implementing service programs within the housekeeping department designed to increase guest satisfaction.
- Safety/
Risk Management:
Conduct routine inspections of housekeeping operations to maintain standards per company, local, state, and federal regulations. Keep all information up to date in Material Safety Data Sheets to ensure proper procedures when using chemicals. Ensure a clean and safe work environment, and follow all company procedures for guest and team member incidents. - Associate Management and Development: Direct staff performance; take corrective action as needed to hold team members accountable. Motivate staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding and recognizing team members. Assist with coaching, development, and required training, ensuring training records are maintained. Analyze quality issues, identify training needs, and implement improvements in line with company training policies. Promote collaboration and a positive, professional work environment.
- Self/Workload Management: Attend all daily, weekly, and/or monthly department and hotel meetings to ensure proper communication and planning. Advise and implement changes to housekeeping operations as needed. Assist with housekeeping/laundry initiatives and meet productivity standards at the hotel level. Maintain a high degree of attention to detail, excellent communication, leadership ability, and problem‑solving skills. Organize efficiently, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines while adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures.
Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience preferred. Must be detail oriented, have strong communication skills at all levels, and be able to problem‑solve with team members and guests.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bi‑lingual ability preferred.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds on a regular basis during the shift. Significant bending required.
Salary: $19.50 – $19.50 per hour
