Job Description & How to Apply Below

Techno Mile is a fast-growing, PE-backed SaaS company (~200 employees across the US and India) building for the Gov Con market, and we're on an aggressive growth trajectory that includes active M&A. We're investing heavily in our People function, and we need a People Operations Manager to build the operational backbone that can keep pace with that ambition.

This isn't a “ maintain what exists” role. It's a “build what should exist” role. You'll own the systems, processes, and data that power our People function, from HRIS and compensation to compliance, payroll, and onboarding, across two countries. You'll be hands-on in standing up new platforms , modernizing how a scaling company operates , and walking away with a portfolio of things you built from the ground up.

It's a player/coach role with real ownership from day one. You'll manage our India-based HR Lead, own the infrastructure behind a two-country People function, and directly shape how we operate as we grow, including through acquisitions. If you're the kind of person who sees a manual, broken process and can't help but want to fix it, this role was built for you.

We're an AI-forward organization, and every role in this function is expected to use AI as a core part of how they work, not as an experiment on the side.

About the Team:

Our People team is small right now, but that's the point: you're joining at the stage where you help define what it becomes. The team currently includes me (Chief People and AI Enablement Officer), a recruiter in the US, a recruiter in India, and an HR Lead in India, and we're growing. Together, we're responsible for building the People infrastructure that a fast-scaling, PE-backed company actually needs: real systems, real data, and real processes, not spreadsheets and tribal knowledge.

As we bring on new platforms, support active M&A, and expand across the US and India, this team will be at the center of it, and you'll help shape not just how the function runs today, but how it's structured as we grow.

What You'll Own:

  • HRIS strategy and administration, including leading a planned platform migration
  • Compensation platform implementation, partnering with the CPO to build job architecture, career levels, and salary bands across US and India
  • Onboarding, reimagined: designing a consistent, scalable new-hire experience across both countries
  • Offboarding and exits, including standardized exit interviews so we finally have real data on why people leave
  • Employee lifecycle administration: promotions, transfers, role changes, and terminations, handled consistently and documented properly
  • Benefits administration, owning the broker relationship and the day-to-day employee experience
  • Compliance across both geographies, including emerging pay transparency requirements
  • Payroll operations oversight for US and India
  • Workflow automation, using AI and modern tooling to replace manual, person-dependent processes with systems that scale
  • People data and analytics, giving leadership real visibility into the business instead of guesswork
  • M&A integration support, leading systems migration and data onboarding as we bring new employee populations into the fold
  • Coaching and developing our India-based HR Lead

What You Bring

  • 5-8+ years in People Operations or HR Operations, ideally with a track record of scaling and professionalizing a function, not just running one
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing HRIS platforms, compensation tools, and workflow automation
  • Experience supporting US and international employee populations (India experience a strong plus)
  • A genuine player/coach mentality: you'll build and execute directly while designing for what the function needs to look like at 2x or 3x the size
  • Real experience using AI to improve People Operations, whether through automation, data quality, or reporting. This isn't a nice
-to-have. It's core to how every role in this function operates.
  • Strong data instincts and a bias toward evidence over assumption
  • PE-backed, high-growth, or M&A environment experience is a plus

You'll work with technologies like:

  • ADP for HRIS and payroll today, with an HRIS migration planned for the new year that you'll help lead
  • Kula AI, our ATS, currently being implemented
  • A new compensation platform to be implemented soon
  • A growing HR tech stack that you'll help shape as we scale
