Position: Systems Engineer (Expert)

Overview

Fuel Systems Engineer, Expert Level, McLean, VA

The Sponsor is seeking a versatile, dedicated and highly motivated systems engineer with expertise in all major phases of project management, data analytics and visualization, cloud services, and the execution of large portfolios to support high profile projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assisting the customer with identifying redundant capabilities, gaps, critical activities, and recommending options for streamlining operations and processes using data driven analysis to assist with improving operations and support to the customers global network operations mission.
  • Display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format, and present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Develops dashboards with data-driven content, data visualizations, and reports using various platforms
  • Drive and foster customer conversations to develop user stories and models for data visualization
  • Attend daily stand-ups (scrum) and participate in core team hours as the product owner; includes answering development & testing questions along with prioritizing and refining stories in the backlog
  • Assist with working sessions with a cross-functional team to gain alignment on approach for solving a major roadblock
  • Conduct 1x1 meetings with cross-functional teams to better understand requirements and reporting
  • Create engaging communication materials for projects going live soon (release notes, demos, etc.)
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Chief Information Officers (CIO)-level data analytics.
  • Experience conducting analysis and developing recommendations for large-scale Information Technology risk mitigation, operations, and enterprise data analytics.
  • Experience working with facilities/property leads to develop weekly status reports, detailing facilities/property management initiatives and tasks upcoming, in progress, and completed.
  • Experience developing capabilities to analyze and report facilities/ property assets and identify areas for workflow process improvements.
  • Experience managing peripheral hardware in order to process data pertaining to business, engineering, statistical, and scientific data.
  • Experience managing fragile as-is IT systems and assisting with the requirements gathering, design and implementation of to be systems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and implementing business intelligence reports and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with the development of SQL scripts to create and maintain data structures that support reporting and BI applications using SSRS.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Service, including its primary services, benefits, and use cases.
  • Bachelors degree in a science or business discipline.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial elements of sponsor operational programs.
  • Demonstrated experience using COGNOS to help clients make acquisitions, decisions, and monitor the time it takes to complete fee-for-service transactions
  • Experience summarizing project information for senior management to include resource planning for multiple, concurrent projects based on continued analysis of actuals versus projections; and contributing to program budget development.
  • Experience developing and administering Microsoft SharePoint team sites as a Site Collection Administrator (SCA) for SharePoint and delivering SharePoint workflows.
  • Hands on experience with sponsor accountable property tracking system such as GENESIS and experience as a Responsible Officer
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial facilities/property management.
