MS-SQL Server Database Administrator

About the Company - Database engineering team looking for a skilled Database Engineer to provide database production support in a fast-paced operations environment supporting business critical applications using backend MS-SQL database platforms.

About the Role - As a MSSQL Database Engineer, play a critical role in ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of our databases and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data analysts, and system administrators, to deliver efficient and reliable database solutions. Provide expertise in SQL programming, database architecture, and troubleshooting will be essential in optimizing database performance and resolving complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• More than seven years of experience working as a production support database administrator (DBA)
• Strong database administration experience on MS-SQL Server
• Experience in installation, configuration and migration with MS-SQL database platforms.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Strong database performance tuning skills - query optimization and server tuning with MSSQL platforms
• Possesses deep understanding of MSSQL internals and Optimizer functioning and ability to apply the skills to trouble-shoot real time production issues
• Provide deployment support for database objects in production and test environment
• Extremely comfortably in power shell scripting with prior experience in writing and maintaining complex scripts to perform database maintenance.
• Experience in migrating SQL platform to industry standard versions.
• Execute large database migration projects independently
• Experience with standard database monitoring.
• Understanding of industry standard High Availability and DR technologies
• Experience with providing 24x7 production on-call support on rotation basis
• Effective verbal and writing communication skills
• Experience in ansible automation is preferable
• Experience with data security and compliance with industry standards
• Experience on other db platforms Sybase or Postgre
  
  SQL and No-SQL like Mongo is preferable
