SQL database architecture, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting our nation's most innovative missions.

On our team, you’ll constantly look for ways to implement database tuning and performance optimization. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.

In this role, you’ll closely impact the management of meteorological data used to make accurate weather predictions, determine warnings and advisories. With your technical expertise, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we’ll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

• 5+ years of experience administering relational databases, including Postgre
  
  SQL in production environments
• Knowledge of Postgre
  
  SQL database architecture, backup and recovery strategies, and performance tuning
• Ability to manage and support Postgre
  
  SQL databases hosted on AWS RDS, including monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience supporting databases in cloud environments, including AWS RDS or Aurora Postgre
  
  SQL, Dynamo, and No
  
  SQL databases
• Knowledge of high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL
• Ability to automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Public Trust
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Postgre
  
  SQL-related certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
