Responsibilities of the Junior Transportation Data Scientist include:
* Prepare, integrate & clean multimodal transportation datasets
* Support the development, testing, & deployment of AI/ML models for transportation applications
* Conduct technical research & literature reviews on AI methods, data sources, & emerging technologies relevant to transportation safety & operations
* Evaluate model performance & recommend improvement to enhance robustness, scalability, trustworthiness & real-world applicability
* Assist with stakeholder engagement, including preparing materials, supporting workshops/briefings, & contributing to AI roadmaps, proposals, & implementation strategies
Qualifications of the Junior Transportation Data Scientist include:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Transportation Engineering, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred)
* 1+ year of professional transportation data science or AI/ML experience
* Hands-on experience with transportation datasets & proficiency with ML frameworks & data processing tools
* Strong foundation in data preparation, ETL workflows, & multimodal data integration
* Familiar with AI evaluation metrics, performance analysis, & testing under varied conditions
* Active Public Trust clearance
Compensation for the Junior Transportation Data Scientist includes:
* Salary: $75,000-$100,000 depending on experience
