Dynatrace Observability Engineer – McLean VA, 100% Onsite – 9‑12 months Contract.
Expected rate: all inc on 1099 / C2C (Net 60 and 6% VMS).
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Dynatrace Observability Engineer to design, implement, and optimize an enterprise observability ecosystem. The role focuses on leveraging Dynatrace APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, RUM, and Davis AI to deliver end‑to‑end visibility, system reliability, performance optimization, and proactive incident detection across hybrid‑cloud or multi‑cloud environments. The engineer will collaborate with application teams, SREs, Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, and business stakeholders to build scalable observability solutions that improve troubleshooting, customer experience, and enable data‑driven decisions.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience with Dynatrace APM (SaaS or Managed)
- Strong understanding of observability pillars: metrics, logs, traces, events
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes
- Experience configuring dashboards, alerts, tagging, rules, management zones, and dashboards
- Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and application performance concepts
- Proficiency with automation scripting tools:
Python, Bash, Power Shell, YAML - Familiarity with CI/CD tools:
Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab - Dynatrace (MUST HAVE)
- Additional:
Splunk, Salesforce Development and Technical Design
