NCIA was established on 1 July 2012 from a merger of several NATO entities. It has a 65-year legacy of supporting NATO operations, missions, and exercises and is on the front lines against cyber threats, protecting NATO's networks 24/7. NCIA provides expertise and services that are critical to NATO's ability to fulfill its core tasks of consultation, collective defence, and crisis management.

You will provide expert engineering support as part of the NISC/&E/OPEX team for NATO's Deployable CIS systems (DCIS). Technical support will include design, test, implementation, deployment and support of new IT baselines, provide specialized troubleshooting and explore new technologies, in the areas of Infrastructure, Platform, Authentication, Web hosting, cyber hygiene and Remote Desktop solutions.

• Provide professional and technical contributions to the design, development and execution of DCIS engineering projects;
• Contribute and participate in a Development-Operations (Dev Ops) environment using concepts like continuous integration, continuous change management, deployment automation and system monitoring;
• Support junior staff with incident management, service request and problem management processes as the senior engineer and ultimate problem solver;
• Provide DCIS engineering support to technically plan and execute NATO approved exercises, either on-site or from remote;
• Documenting designs and implementations of assigned services as well as troubleshooting guides;
• Plan, schedule, participate and lead technical support teams in support of projects and exercises;
• Provide on the job training when necessary in order to maintain highly skilled and trained technical support for the Service Line;
• Deputize for higher grade staff; and
• Performs other duties as may be required.

Essential education, experience, and training:

• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Alternatively, exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post;
• At least 5 years' experience supporting and implementing in deployable or large enterprise environments of:
• Centralized storage systems based on FC, iSCSI, SAS or Hyper converged technology like vSAN;
• Recent Virtualization Technologies based on VMWare ESXi and Virtual Centre;
• Recent Microsoft Windows Server or Redhat Linux Operating Systems;
• Expert Directory, Identity and Access Management consisting of multiple interconnected and federated Active Directory Domains and Forests;
• Expert DNS resolution, server hardening, AD troubleshooting and GPO development;
• Microsoft Remote Desktop solutions, or related Application provisioning technology;
• High Availability Systems (i.e. Fail-over clustering, Database Availability Groups, stretched clusters, etc); and
• Windows patching and anti-malware update systems.
• At least 3 years' active participation in a Dev Ops team with demonstrable experience of:
• Bash or Power Shell scripting languages; and
• Automation and orchestration tools.
• Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles;
• Knowledge of ITIL IT service management mode and applied knowledge of Service Transition; and
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing technical manuals.

• Formal ITIL Certification in Service Operation;
• COTS products (Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMWare VCP, Cisco CCDA, CCNA);
• Previous in depth experience with Ansible configuration management and orchestration tool to manage Redhat Linux and Windows systems;
• Expert experience in designing and troubleshooting complex VMWare environments;
• Expert experience in designing and troubleshooting McAfee ePolicy architectures;
