Position: Senior DevOps Engineer: CI/CD for Public Sector

Clearances

Must be a U.S. Citizen operating on U.S. soil with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards, including a Criminal Justice Information Services screening with fingerprint scan. Citizenship will be verified using two of the following REAL  documents: U.S. Passport, Passport Card, REAL Driver’s License, Global Entry Card, or U.S. Government CAC/PIV.

  • Review and diagnose issues; take corrective action and coordinate with peer teams as needed.
  • Lead key projects in design, development, and post-release support of the Continuous Integration solutions used by internal teams to support DET Public Sector managed CRM infrastructure.
  • Implement monitoring to proactively identify issues and back up infrastructure.
  • Advance governance of CI/CD pipelines with scrum teams and incorporate feedback to maintain service owner feature velocity.
  • Ensure successful code deployment as part of CI/CD delivery to managed environments.
  • Transfer knowledge, participate in projects to develop standard processes, and mentor junior staff and new hires.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with security policies, SOX procedures, and change management controls.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in design and discovery involving deployment pipelines, process improvements, AI-driven automation, and adoption.
  • Implement approved designs to meet integration requirements.
  • Document and present implementation designs to peers, stakeholders, and review boards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align on development environments and launch dependencies.
  • Evolve and evaluate new or acquired technologies; complete POCs to show ROI.
  • Incorporate improvement ideas to power the DET Pub Sec managed infrastructure and drive organizational adoption.
  • Provide investigative support on new and existing integrations.
  • Establish and meet SLA for Continuous Integration platform stability and availability.
  • Occasional off-hour support prior to and during CRM release windows.
  • Provide timely status and feedback to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with DET Business & Enterprise Architects, Product Managers, Program Staff, QA, and other Business Technology teams to ensure deployment readiness.
  • Keep up with targeted security, technical, and business training.
Required Skills
  • 6+ years experience deploying with a CI orchestration service (Jenkins, Copado, SFDX, Salesforce Enterprise Pipeline, Git Actions).
  • 3+ years developing infrastructure or application security for highly sensitive data and environments (Least Privilege, Separation of Duties, IAM).
  • 3+ years scripting/programming experience (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go).
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with CI-supporting toolsets (Git Hub, Cloud Hub, VSCode, JIRA or GUS, App Exchange API).
  • 3+ years experience with security scanning tools (Checkmarx, Sonar Qube, or Fortify).
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with monitoring toolsets (Splunk, Grafana).
  • Solid understanding of standard CI processes, including design patterns, release management, deployment strategies, testing, and monitoring.
  • Experience with sandbox and production deployments, user and license provisioning, runlist management, etc.
  • Familiarity with SOX, Change Management, and Release Management principles and processes.
  • A related technical degree is required.
