Associate Application Engineer

Overview

In Appian Business Technology we are dedicated to delivering internal, intelligent applications that simplify operations, automate workflows, and drive AI‑powered decision‑making. Our Appian application developers combine technical expertise with AI and process automation to solve complex business challenges le this role is technical in nature, it is not a traditional software engineering position.

Appian is looking for an Associate Application Engineer to develop large‑scale applications that support internal Appian employees worldwide. In this role you will become an expert on our software, working directly with internal stakeholders throughout the entire life‑cycle of projects to define, design, and implement business‑process‑based solutions.

This role is based at our headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Employees are expected to be in the office five days a week to foster collaboration and teamwork.

• Leverage experience in a range of process‑improvement disciplines, including business process management, knowledge management, personalization, business intelligence, and application integration on the Appian platform.
• Construct, implement, and deploy process‑centric business process management solutions based on Appian software.
• Analyze a client’s business strategy and processes, and develop technical solutions to support that strategy.
• Design prototypes, model business processes, and analyze requirements.
• Implement quality assurance plans, load testing, and roll‑out plans.
• Triage and troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support to various business applications.
• Have excellent communication skills and a solid foundation of, or passion for, technology.

• B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for AI‑driven innovation.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Exceptional communication and customer management skills (verbal/written).
