Position OverviewFreddie Mac's Internal Audit division is searching for collaborative and creative individuals to join our organization. The position is full‑time and is located within the internal audit function.
Your ImpactThe Internal Audit Associate will develop and execute procedures to extract, transform, load, analyze, and visualize data for audit activities. Responsibilities include audit planning, fieldwork such as substantive control testing, reporting, continuous auditing, business monitoring, and issue follow‑ups. This role will help brainstorm, develop, and implement analytics use cases to test management’s risk management activities (e.g., controls) or to build automated tools using computer science techniques to increase assurance and reduce the audit footprint.
The analyst will develop descriptive analytics on large samples or populations and perform advanced data quality assessments, such as outlier detection and assessment of distributional shifts, using tools such as R, Python, SAS, and Tableau to visualize data and provide audit insight.
The Internal Audit Associate typically has a degree in economics, statistics, data science, analytics, IT, computer science, mathematics, finance, or a related STEM discipline and demonstrates intermediate to advanced programming skills in at least one programming language.

- Advanced coding skills in Python, R, SAS, or other programming languages.
- Intermediate knowledge of data analytics approaches and demonstrates use of analytics to evaluate management’s controls.
- Proactively informs others of progress and results of projects and analytics.
- Experiences in communicating and conveying analytics insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Good quantitative, empirical analysis, and research skills.
- Willingness to pursue certifications or a graduate degree in business analytics, data science, computer science, IT, or a STEM field.
This position has an annualized market‑based salary range of $55,000-$83,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity, and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
