Senior Data Analyst – Tech Analytics

At Capital One, data is at the center of everything we do. As a Data Analyst you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well‑managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problems. Your day‑to‑day work will focus on three areas:

• Innovation – Use open source/digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and varied data sources and platforms; build data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self‑service frameworks for data consumers; explore and quickly grasp new technologies.
• Business Intelligence – Partner with business to translate needs into design and development of tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization; drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategies.
• Data Management – Drive adherence to principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions; manage security mechanisms and data access governance; build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality.

• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 2 years of experience performing data analytics, or has a Master’s Degree or is pursuing one and will obtain the degree on or before the start date.
• At least 1 year of experience working with at least one scripting language.
• At least 1 year of experience using a business intelligence visualization tool.
• At least 1 year of experience querying, analyzing and working with data languages and platforms.

• Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
• At least 2 years of experience working within process management and improvement methodologies – Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
• At least 1 year of experience using AWS services.
• At least 1 year of experience with data governance, data quality management concepts and data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ).

• Pandas, PySpark, Num Py, scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, Azure/Databricks, DBT, as well as experience with Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI.
• UI layer/OLAP: BI, data modeling, ETL, dashboards;
  Python, R, Spark, SQL.
• Data management:
  Azure/Databricks, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, SQl, Access, Postgre
  
  SQL, etc.
• Data governance:
  Snowflake, Informatica ELT, etc.

Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. Salary ranges:
McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900;
Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400. Role eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation and benefits.
