Director, Data Analysis - Global Network - Risk Management

Director of Data Analysis – Global Payment Network (Risk Management) s leadership role partners cross‑functionally across the organization to validate and improve data‑driven analytical tools, influence strategy, and drive risk‑management initiatives through data insight.

• Lead a newly created team of Data Analysts within the Risk Management organization.
• Refine an enterprise‑wide analytical tools validation framework and execute validation projects.
• Assess quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One and guide tool usage.
• Understand technical issues in analytical tools, assess risks, and identify opportunities.
• Research, identify, and prototype industry best practices for emerging analytical tools.
• Communicate results clearly through verbal presentations and written validation reports.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, leveraging education, colleagues, and training opportunities.

• Basic:
  • Bachelor’s Degree + at least 9 years of experience in data analytics, OR Master’s Degree + at least 7 years, OR PhD + at least 4 years.
  • At least 5 years of professional data analysis experience.
  • At least 5 years of people‑management experience.
  • At least 2 years of Big Data technology experience.
  • At least 2 years of data visualization experience.
• Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree, 10+ years of data analysis experience, 5+ years Big Data (AWS, Spark).
  • 5+ years of cloud‑native data processing experience, Python, data governance, and process management.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming).
