Active Directory Senior Engineer; Hybrid - in Office

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make home ownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Our rapidly evolving IT department is in search of an Active Directory Senior Engineer with excellent time management skills and a proven track record of setting and meeting results‑oriented goals. The role requires a strong background in automation and experience in large environments, with responsibility for leading projects, managing workloads in a fast‑paced environment, and proactively ensuring best practices are crafted and executed on premise and in the cloud.

• Assure stability, availability and reliability for thousands of Windows servers in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Prevent service impacts in a multifaceted and constantly evolving ecosystem, and ensure rapid recoverability from any impacts to business and services.
• Strategize and transform IT with automation and process engineering.

• Provide technical leadership for a team of AD Engineers, proactively ensuring the stability and security of the platform.
• Identify, influence and implement technology and processes to modernize our infrastructure.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure visible communication, risk reduction and accountability for the performance and stability of the AD platform.

• 5–7 years of experience.
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Senior Level AD Engineer.
• 5+ years of Power Shell experience (Ansible or Python a plus).
• 5+ years as a Domain Administrator of a large organization.
• No doubt of accountability for performance and continual improvement of execution.
• Effective communication within the team and with management.
• Ability to lead current technical trends and anticipate future state technologies.
• Strong focus on automating common processes.
• AWS/Azure experience a plus.

• Demonstrates deep job‑specific knowledge and best practices to drive effective change and transform how work is performed.
• Elevates team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing; highly effective team leader and top influencer for other IT and business partners.

This position has an annualized market‑based salary range of $122,000 - $184,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and will depend on factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications.
