Principal Associate, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Campaign Specialist

Capital One is seeking an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Campaign Specialist for its US Card Business.

Work Arrangement:
Hybrid – associates expected to spend approximately three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Marketing Strategy leads to design, streamline, and optimize Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) journeys, including building and filtering audiences.
  • Design and execute cross‑channel SFMC journeys based on Marketer requirements.
  • Infuse best practices around dynamic email content and segmentation rules to customize marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with Capital One Mar Tech leads for support related to new capability development, platform integrations, and/or omni‑channel execution.
  • Evangelize the spirit of transformation across the team so that it’s a part of every marketer’s job and permeates everything that we do.
  • Establish a network of help and strong relationships across partners (business, creative, martech, data, operations, etc.) to deliver efficient and effective campaigns.
Key Qualities
  • Exceptional expertise in email marketing best practices and owning multi‑audience email campaigns on a global scale, with extensive usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions.
  • SQL, HTML, and CSS experience.
  • Experience creating dynamic and personalized marketing campaigns using AMPscript and SQL, building automations for marketing, analysis, and system maintenance, and maintaining and optimizing SFMC for peak performance and data integrity.
  • Stays abreast of industry best practices and emerging SFMC trends, understands current martech capabilities, and connects martech capabilities to marketing possibilities across targeting, creative, and experience.
  • Ability to combine analytics and qualitative data to form a journey orchestration strategy and translate it into an actionable plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market.
  • Identifies and resolves technical or process issues as they arise.
  • Builds, optimizes, and documents technical processes to enable marketing teams.
  • Flexibility to act as both a marketer/practitioner and transformation thought leader.
  • Monitors and analyzes marketing campaign performance, offering actionable insights for optimization.
  • Obsessively accurate and detail‑oriented.
  • Highly effective communicator and relationship‑builder who can influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience planning, building, and analyzing marketing campaigns leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • At least 3 years of experience leveraging SQL queries to build target audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of journey orchestration experience in Financial Services or other regulated industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hightouch, or other CDP and enterprise MAPs.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment, with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity.
  • 2+ years of leveraging Workfront or other project management systems.
  • 2+ years of Risk Management experience.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications:
    Administrator, Developer, and/or Email Specialist.
  • BPM, Lean, PMP certifications.
  • Experience writing and editing SSJS.
