Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will function in both Cyber Security Project Engineering and Knowledge Management. Position is contingent upon contract award, and requires on-site work in McLean, VA.
Key responsibilities- Developing and maintaining systems and tools in the Sponsor's environment, supporting the development of new tools and systems that align with the Sponsor’s goals, and contributing to the creation of the Sponsor’s overarching data acquisition and exploitation strategy.
- The team will work on complex, in-person cyber security and knowledge management tasks with minimal or no access to online reference materials, requiring strong technical expertise and problem‑solving skills limited access to online reference materials.
- The Team will work closely with data acquisition, data engineering, data management and data science teams, however, the Sponsor project manager will manage the priorities.
- The Team will provide technical expertise, integrate existing systems and tools with a focus on complex, multi‑faceted data processing systems, and implement data triage capabilities and tools.
- The Cyber Security Engineer will assess, validate and document the cyber security of Sponsor systems and tools as well as information systems of interest to Sponsor and use experience with performing forensic imaging and media analysis of various types of incoming sources and integrate that experience into reusable tools and information systems.
A minimum of 7 years cyber security experience, at least 1 in a team lead position.
- 1. Demonstrated experience implementing cybersecurity systems and tools to support forensic imaging of data sources.
- 2. Demonstrated experience implementing cybersecurity systems and tools to support media analysis of data sources.
- 3. Demonstrated experience developing and customizing tools to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- 4. Demonstrated experience modifying technical research frameworks to optimize data collection from diverse sources.
- 5. Demonstrated experience developing tools for cyber analysis and exploitation.
- Demonstrated experience with a strong understanding of networking protocols and vulnerabilities. Demonstrated experience with data engineering and effective communication across platforms and disparate levels of technical knowledge.
- 7. Demonstrated experience modifying secure communication information systems and processing tools to enhance collaboration across Sponsor’s branches and departments.
- 8. Demonstrated experience with conducting technical research and analysis on various systems and applications for data collection.
- 9. Demonstrated experience providing root cause cyber analysis on communication platforms
- 10. Demonstrated experience with a strong understanding of computer network security, networking principles and exploitation techniques
- 11. Demonstrated experience with reviewing data collections for veracity of information
