Application Tester
Location:
Will eventually need to be onsite (hybrid, 2+ days a week) must be McLean, VA - As of right now, this will start in January.
Work Authorization:
This requirement is open to sponsored candidates through sub-vendors - one layer deep. The candidates must be W2 employees of the sub vendor and have at least three years remaining on their current visa.
Extension/Conversion:
There is no intention to convert, but this is expected to extend through to the end of 2022.
Technical Must Haves:
Jira/Confluence and Atlassian Suite, Hands on experience testing web applications in a cloud environment using; CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JSON and Postman, Advanced SQL querying skills. Strong preference for experience working with Kubernetes, Microservices and Rest APIs, and API testing. Experience with Visio or comparable tools. Experience with Microservices based architectures. Experience with Jira/Confluence and Atlassian suite - half of the work will be tracking user stories etc.
Strong preference for Experience with Kubernetes.
Soft Skill Must Haves:
Specifically looking for someone proactive, outgoing and collaborative, with leadership qualities who is innovative and willing to take ownership of the work.

Freddie Mac Single family division is looking for an experienced Application Tester to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with the development team to methodically and meticulously test software development to ensure quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in the creation, development, and application of test practices in an agile environment.
You should have knowledge & hands-on documentation/testing experience in the following areas: functional, integration, API, and cross-browser testing on web-based applications.
Should be able to identify gaps in a complex functional solution, requirements documentation, challenge the SME's and ensure gaps are addressed.
Duties and responsibilities
- 5 years of working experience
- Experience in a US based banking or financial services organization
- Experience working in Agile teams (EPIC, User Stories, tasks)
- Good exposure to API testing, UI testing and database testing.
- Create/Review detailed test scenarios/ test cases & Acceptance Criteria)
- Ability to estimate work and plan accordingly
- Experience facilitation of Defects Triage sessions/reporting
- Write and execute test cases manually or using automation
- Understanding of Traceability
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- Proven experience in functional, integration, API, and cross-browser testing on web-based applications.
- Exposure to test automation practices is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira/Confluence and Atlassian suite
- Knowledge and understanding of the following technologies: CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JSON and Postman.
- Understanding of SQL and ability to execute basic SQL queries to verify application behavior.
- Proven ability to create and maintain quality project & technical documentation.
- Detail orientated and able to multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
