Cloud Architect

Role Overview

As a Cloud Architect, you will work within our growing Dev Sec Ops  practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years experience with cloud platform services and Dev Ops practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation.

• Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer
• Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24×7 environments
• Implement and oversee cloud strategies including migrations and optimization
• Establish development tools and infrastructure for automation
• Understand the needs of stakeholders and convey this to developers
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Test and examine code written by others and analyze results
• Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components.
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes
• Work with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Support enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large‑scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing such as CI/CD
• Document as‑is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
• Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
• Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
• Present regular status updates and provide cross‑training to other team members

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience
• 8 years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
• 8 years of experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• 8 years of experience with Git SCM providers such as Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket
• 8 years of experience with systems development in an Agile environment
• 8 years of experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
• 8 years of experience integrating deployments with industry standard Dev Sec Ops  tooling and orchestration
• 5 years of experience in areas such as database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
• Proven leadership experience
• ITIL Foundation certification

• MS degree in an IT‑related field
• Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional
  • Microsoft Certified Dev Ops Engineer Expert
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Architect Expert
  • SAFe Dev Ops Certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Experience with documenting an as‑is state of the environment, performing gap analysis, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
• Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, Power Shell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
• Experience implementing Docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible

The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $215,000 per year. Annual salary is just one aspect of our total compensation package.
