Senior Associate Project Manager – Travel Delivery Lead

Capital One Travel is a fast‑moving, highly innovative digital‑first business within Capital One’s Premium Products and Experiences organization. We aim to grow an industry‑leading travel booking platform that customers love and deliver unique, differentiated benefits to our millions of customers while also powering the headline marketable benefits of our credit card products.

As a Travel Delivery Lead Senior Associate, you will leverage your strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills to deliver on highly strategic travel initiatives in close partnership with our Product Managers and Business Analysts. You will also work cross‑functionally with our partner teams, including Tech, Design, Marketing, Risk, Legal, and third‑party partners to bring our innovative travel features to market and manage large‑scale marketing and product rollouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultimate Project Owner – Remove blockers, move the program forward, and deliver value for customers and the business.
  • Coordination of execution – Develop and maintain delivery execution plans. Track progress against timelines, manage risks to delivery, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Steward of documentation – Create structure for defining, executing, and maintaining system documentation that assists with onboarding, collaboration, updates and launch.
  • Dependency mapping, tracking, and resolution – Develop and maintain dependency maps. Coordinate timelines and requirements with dependent teams independently.
  • Stakeholder management – Connect with stakeholders to set expectations, problem‑solve issues, remove blockers, lead delivery prep meetings, develop launch materials, and facilitate go/no‑go decisions.
  • Status Tracking & Reporting – Create and distribute systemized status reporting on delivery progress to product and tech leadership, and provide ad‑hoc updates as needed.
  • Steward of well‑managed processes – Track and champion processes for risk, legal and compliance.
  • Testing Planning & Support – Work hands‑on with product and tech to execute test scenarios, provide lift for dev and product teams, own testing documentation, and keep the team on track to complete testing ahead of launches.

  • Team Player – Builds strong relationships with tech and product partners to work cross‑functionally; centralizes information from many teams and creates structured delivery plans.
  • Systems Thinker – Connects the dots between different technology systems and proposes efficient ways of working.
  • Communicator – Strong communicator that can inform stakeholders on status, progress, and impediments.
  • Comfortable with technology – Understands basic building blocks of tech systems, converses with PMs and Tech Leads, and has experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Organizer – Highly organized; builds processes and tools to increase clarity for team members and stakeholders; creates clear trackers and presentations for project updates and delivery milestones.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Business Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management or Risk Management.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Google Suite products.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading technology delivery projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or MBA degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in Business Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management or Risk Management.

Compensation

McLean, VA: $96,500 – $110,100 for Sr. Project Manager

New York, NY: $105,300 – $120,100 for Sr. Project Manager

Richmond, VA: $87,700 – $100,100 for Sr. Project Manager

Location based compensation may vary.
