Appian Architect - Civilian

Responsibilities

• Guide clients on architecture design, integration, scalability, configuration management, Dev Sec Ops , and other program initiatives to drive technical success.
• Work with client enterprise architecture teams to design and deliver solutions that fit their unique needs and ecosystems.
• Guide implementation teams through complex technical solutions with Appian and tangential technologies.
• Ensure solutions are built for scale and performance.
• Integrate multi-tier architecture through integrations and system configuration.
• Evaluate emerging or incumbent technologies for value and fit in client or back‑office implementations.
• Create and document implementation best practices and knowledge base articles for internal enablement.
• Provide thought leadership on process improvement.
• Support internal solutions, infrastructure, and tools.
• Mentor, train, and enable resources.

• 6+ years of experience with Appian solutions.
• 6+ years of related IT experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Active Appian Lead Certification.
• Strong experience with Agile delivery.
• Strong technical implementation skills.
• Strong database design and development skills.
• Experience evaluating and resolving issues found during system security testing.
• Experience with Appian Cloud configuration and support processes.
• Experience implementing Cloud, On‑Premises, and Hybrid platform deployments.
• Experience in network infrastructure concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong communication, analytical, and strategic foresight skills.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a high‑paced environment, multi‑task, and work both independently and as a team.
• Preference for candidates local to the DC Metro area; U.S. Citizen required.
• Willingness to travel 0‑15% to client meetings in Washington, DC area and Dallas, TX.

• RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
• Authentication (SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, LDAP)
• Web services, integrations and middleware (RESTful/SOAP, Mule/IIB/Fusion)
• Cloud Computing/IaaS (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Source Control (Git, SVN, CVS)
• Software troubleshooting and performance tuning.
