Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong SQL and Snowflake expertise to support data-driven initiatives for a leading financial services client in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, data analysis, requirements gathering, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Work closely with business users, product owners, and technical teams to define data and reporting needs.
• Perform data analysis and validation using SQL and Snowflake.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and reconcile data from multiple sources.
• Support data mapping, data lineage, and data quality initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Assist in UAT planning, test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and QA teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Create dashboards, reports, and business insights using enterprise reporting tools.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide regular status updates.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations).
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
• Experience analyzing large datasets and performing data reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience writing business requirements documents (BRD), functional requirements documents (FRD), and user stories.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
