About the team
:
Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises Capital One’s important enterprise platforms. We establish practices for building technology solutions across the company and deliver capabilities that exemplify those practices.

As a Director TPM in EPTech, you will leverage your technical acumen and engineering experience to drive the strategy and execution of large-scale, technically complex, cross-functional programs aligned with Capital One’s business priorities. You will break down complexity and organizational silos, influence roadmaps, dive deep into system design and architecture, make technical tradeoffs, drive platform consolidation, and identify and mitigate hard technical dependencies.

• Strong technical backgrounds with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life-cycle
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
• A quantitative approach to problem solving and a systems thinking mindset
• Experience as a TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs and lay foundations for the TPM practice
• Ability to simplify technically complex topics and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
• Focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results
• Exceptional cross-team collaboration across functions and reporting boundaries
• High emotional intelligence, good listening, and empathy for teams and partners

Basic Qualifications
:

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs

Preferred Qualifications
:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
• 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing (preferably AWS)
• 3+ years building highly scalable mobile products & platforms
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
• 3+ years delivering large and complex programs with ownership of business or technical vision and cross-functional collaboration
• 3+ years building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
