Sr. Data Analyst - Retail Bank

Overview

Capital One places data at the center of its operations. In Retail Bank, the Sr. Data Analyst will leverage analytic and technical skills to design, build, and maintain data solutions that address business challenges across digital banking, branch/cafe experience, operations, contact center, payments, marketing, and small‑business banking.

  • Use open‑source and digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and varied data sources.

• Business Intelligence
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into design, development, and deployment of tools, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategy.
• Data Management
  • Promote data quality principles, including metadata management, lineage, and business definitions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance.
  • Build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality.

• Education
  :
  Currently holding or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related) with at least 2 years of analytics experience. Candidates pursuing a master’s degree must obtain it before the scheduled start date.
• Experience & Skills
  :
  • At least 1 year working with a scripting language such as Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
  • At least 1 year experience with business‑intelligence visualization tools.
  • At least 1 year experience querying, analyzing, and working with data platforms, including data warehouses and unstructured data.
  • Experience with Snowflake services.
  • Experience with AWS services.
• Preferred
  :
  • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • At least 2 years coding with Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
  • At least 2 years working with lean/agile/six sigma process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ).

McLean, VA: $111,200 – $126,900 per year.
Richmond, VA: $101,100 – $115,400 per year.

Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.
